Dylan answered 10 years ago I just had my tranny fluid flushed, so I know a bit about this. The tranny in the Passat is a sealed unit which means that you can't check the fluid level without having to lift the car, breaking the seal between the tranny pan and body and then check. I don't reccomend this. Also how many miles does the car have? If it isn't leaking and it has fairly low miles, under 55k for example your fine.
