Not 100% sure on the legalities regarding hosting of such files which is why I wont put my D40 manual up on my host but for those interested you can try the link below and get the Frontier manual. Download PDF Nissan Frontier 2005 Service Manual PDFTown.com (Obviously this is American and left handed tools must be used for any work under taken on our Nav's but it might give those interested some idea. There could even be D22 manuals listed I'm not exactly sure which models relate to the D22. Edit: There is a link on that site to a 2006 Titan that looks different to their Frontier, not sure if that's closer to a D22 or not but the manual is there. Take it from Nissan's side, the more people they give these away to the less people come in for factory servicing, sure not everyone who got a free manual would choose factory servicing but it's still going to stop some people. Technical manuals are usually different to the manuals supplied with goods brought, you don't get a full service manual with every fridge you buy you get a manual good enough to show you how to use it, specs and maybe some trouble shooting.
If you want wiring schematics and exploded diagrams to dismantle it you need to pay extra or hunt one down from somewhere, so why should car manufacturers be any different? As has been spoken about several times already for $10 you can have your own copy of these manuals brought off fleabay and delivered to your door. So what if Nissan aren't the ones giving it to you, for that price it doesn't make any difference it's still a bargain if you want one. Take it from Nissan's side, the more people they give these away to the less people come in for factory servicing, sure not everyone who got a free manual would choose factory servicing but it's still going to stop some people. Firstly very few people do factory servicing once they are out of warranty. Those who do, generally can't understand a service manual anyway.
Manuals for both the D40 and D22 are available on Fleabay for less than $10, yeah it sucks that some of us might have got our manuals for nothing but $10 for a manual delivered to your door is still better than any other option available to you if these links are no longer live. Fortunately over here its not compulsory to get factory servicing to keep the warranty so half of the under warranty service is not done by nissan anyway. Most basic things on the vehicles can be done without need of a manual anyway. Probably the main thing is being able to read the codes and understand what they mean. A phone call to nissan will get you that info anyway. The big thing for us is being able to do mods. Much easier if you can see the diagrams and under stand how it all works.
I think that it would actually benefit the manufactures if they release the manuals. For some products i buy the manufacture does supply manuals free on their web site. It certain has never hurt their business. Because manuals are available, tons of aftermarket parts and upgrade bling is available means there is never any shortage of people wanting that brand.
Its called customer service, keep the customer happy means repeat sales. Also by encouraging the mods and the tweaking by fans you turn a basic product into a cult following which in turn keeps the sales going. Its all builds a brand. Still doesn't change the fact that for $10 you can buy a copy off ebay, have it delivered to your door and be done with it. It's not like this is a new thing or like Nissan invented it just to annoy people who buy their cars it's been going on for years thats why the likes of Gregory's have been making workshop manuals for just about every make and model of car.
For all us experts know it could well be mixed in legal requirements that they charge what they do, or maybe even a requirement by their legal people on the grounds that there is a hell of a lot of trademarked items on their cars and they don't want everyone knowing how they work, at very least the entire manual belongs to them under IP law and they would be paying someone a huge amount to keep it up to date so making end users pay for it is how they recoup costs. Of course if they ever did start including it in the purchase of a new car the price of each car would go up by more than the prices quoted here to cover it and that means there will be thousands of people out there paying for a book they'll never use. Half the people don't even read the manual they get with the car so they don't need the full technical manual just because there is people out there who do benefit from it. There is still two sides to every argument and for $10 those who want Nissan to supply them a dvd can log on to ebay and be satisfied, those who don't want it or never need it have spent/wasted nothing when it's not sitting on the seat come purchase day. No one suggested the $10 was going to Nissan the point was it can be done for $10 because Nissan wont ever give it to you for nothing no matter how much you think you deserve it. Not everyone wants it and not everyone will get it no matter what the price is and Nissan (or any other manufacturer) giving them away will only ever satisfy a small number of the people. Yet another side to this is that giving it away for free means that every mechanic and repair shop can easily get a copy of the manual and start doing more and more work.
These business are then using free knowledge to earn dollars that otherwise may have gone to Nissan I can see why Nissan would want to keep that to a minimum, why give away knowledge for free so other people can earn money that could be yours? They might well have kicked themselves in the arse a bit by charging as much as they do for them because even mechanics these days are savvy enough to hunt the net for $10 copies before they pay the high prices from dealers but that doesn't mean they should just give them away like a free gift because you brought something from them. Just to clarify: I was referring to a nissan manual from nissan at full cost and the fact that if available for download for free it would encourage more bottom line dollars in nissans pocket compared to the sale of the manuals themselves. I dont expect it to be delivered with the vehicle but i expect to be able to have the info available to me if i own the product.Im not asking for design secrets just what order bolts come out or which way this bracket goes or if i drill here will i damage any looms.etc tweak'e pretty much summed it up tho.
Hi guys, I'm new here (no doubt you regulars would know that already) I'd really love to get a copy of the service manual so I'll be sending a really nice PM to Dave as he has posted:). I just thought that i'd make a suggestion on this general topic though; I've been a member on a number of forums like this in the past. This is my first Navara and as much as I appreciate being able to check this forum, I can't / don't want to be accessing it unless I have to whilst I'm working on my vehicle. I'd much rather do some research on here, then have a physical copy of the manual to cover with greasy fingerprints and then post my results and work-arounds to help others on here. Considering my local Supercheap has told me that no-one makes a workshop manual for the Navara I can imagine any copy (especially a digital copy) is worth gold. So perhaps it could be worthwhile for the site manager to host the files on the server and offer access to download the manuals for a small fee to help cover the costs associated with hosting this great forum.
Just a thought. This sort of thing has come up before and as far as I'm concerned the 'site manager' should not be risking himself or his server by making available the downloading of pirated material, and that is what the workshop manual is, pirated and copywritten to Nissan. How Nissan charge for it is up to them (and the fodder of a large number of arguments) but it's still not a free for all, even for those buying $5 copies from ebay. There is more than enough anon sites on the net that have these files for download which can risk getting in the shit, no point risking the forum for the sake for a few files even if the risk is extremely low. Hi my name is kieron ive just signed up to the forum and would like some help i any one could please. Ive stuffed my gear box by getting stuck in some water.
D22 Manual Gearbox
And have bought a second handy. My transfer case is still ace and need to exchange my transfer case onto the second hand gear box and then install. Ive been looking every where for a nissan navara d22 03/04 manual and this in the only site with a link to one but the link is not working could some one plz email me a copy or refer me to some where to download one please. I need it done before chrissy to try and get a fishing trip in. Thats a fair call. I actually didn't even think of copyright issues.
While it's great that there are members on here that do have copies to share, I'm still surprised that they aren't readily available for purchase in shops. It's not like the Navara is a rare car. From what is can see Haynes do 1986-1996 Nissan Navara / Pathfinder 1980-86 Haynes Part No.
72730 ((and a 1987-1995 Nissan Navara / Pathfinder 1980-86 Haynes Part No. 72730 (and 1996 to 2001 Nissan / Datsun Pathfinder 1996-01 Haynes Part No. 72031 (Im wondering why they havent done an update in 10 years. The question was jsut put out there to see if some one could help me out. I dont know much about cars. I enjoy my 4x4 with the standard car i have as i cant afford to trick it out. And only joined yesterday.
When i find a few more ppl from wa in the forum and get some chats up and running ill deffinatly be on more offten with fishing spots and the like. I only asked the question if some one could help a fellow navara holder out, did not expect ppl to be getting all antsy about the question.
Im wondering why they havent done an update in 10 years. Two reasons I think cover it are 1. The workshop manuals that are available at SCA or the like are rarely in excess of a few hundred pages where as most current model manuals are well into the thousands of pages.
Car manufacturers have seen their worth to owners and think $500 ish dollars to sell them a manual on CD is a bargain. Could also be argued that less manuals in general population means more dealer servicing but that would be extremely hard to prove. Pick me, pick me.yes me i want a free download.must have from '08 - to current model D22. Thanks guys, heaps.love the site.you guys are tops.cya. Bloody typical of you bastards always wanting something for nothing, you need to learn some manners before it's even considered. @Krankin - to be honest, I didn't even think of speaking to Nissan directly. I've just always had a Haynes manual for every car I've owned.
The main thing i like about them is that they simply show you how to pull the car apart. You still have to chat to the right people or nut it out yourself when something doesn't work, the manual just makes it easy to remove parts the correct way without damaging things like little plastic tabs in the process. From the sounds of it, the workshop manual you guys have is the one for actual mechanics not just hobbyist with a socket set like myself. @Krankin - to be honest, I didn't even think of speaking to Nissan directly. I've spoken to my Nissan dealer about the manual and they won't sell it.
I've learned that it's about $1,000 anyway. The copy that I have - for the D22 and the D40 (yes I have both and Krankin, my D22 manual covers models up to those manufactured (or equal to) in Jan 2008. These manuals are NOT Haynes or Gregorys manuals.
They have no pictures showing step by step for every procedure. They have some pics, yes, but they do rely on your ability and training (and a copious amount of plugging in the Consult device). If you're looking for a simple manual, this ain't it. However, since there isn't a 'simple' one out there, this one is okay - it takes a little longer to find what you're looking for sometimes, but eventually you get there.

Yeah, i have up to early '08 as well.wanting '08 onwards. Nissan would sell me a factory manual in cd form, they wanted $500. Says somewhere in my service book that if one lives out of range of dealerships, send a mail to Nissan asking for a copy of a factory service manual, they sent me a letter back saying just go to a dealer and buy one.
I much prefer the 'factory manuals' as they have all the specifications, which for example if rebuilding an engine then the manual has all the specs. You just dont get that with haynes or gregorys the nissan manual is a pain to navigate but i get the info eventually. Not 100% sure on the legalities regarding hosting of such files which is why I wont put my D40 manual up on my host but for those interested you can try the link below and get the Frontier manual.

On the other hand, the link here is the d40 manual version apparently, and it is still active, for now at least. In saying that, it took about 30 secs to find these.
As stated in quite a few threads pdftown has and continues to have the Frontier manuals, just like ebay has the Aussie ones, they aren't hard to get if you go looking but some people wont bother searching for themselves and there are others who are downright ignorant and rude and think they it's below them to even pay $10 for a pirated copy. And FB don't get us wrong, we love the fact you work at Nissan, we think nothing less of you for admitting it either, just don't ask us what we thought of you before we knew who you worked for. It should be made aware to those who don't know that the Frontier one is LEFT handed so you need left handed tools. The US D22 version is also available from that site but I can't remember what they call it.someone else would know and I'm to lazy to search for it. Not sure when or if they changed the D22 manual but the manuals for both right handed models of Nav can still be got from the UK site for a small fee or from Fleabay for a few bucks more. For those coming in the future. 'It's a few bucks just don't buy those next few latte's to get you through to lunch time and you'll have saved enough cash to buy a copy of your very own':ha.
Thanks and bump. Im trying to find the wiring diagram for the glow plug circuit for a 2004 yd25 di 2wd? This manual appears to have the common rail yd25 diagrams but cant find the glow plugs in there? Im having a problem with it not starting on occasion but if flick the key back a couple of times it starts no worries.
D2 Manual Ncaa
Replaced the glow plugs as they were drawing 2amps (new one draws 12 amps. But still this problem persists. Looked at the glow plug relay and think its o.k. May just replace it soon to rule it out. But im thinking now its further back up the circuit?
