I bought a new one at a previous employer. It was their low budget saw with step pulleys and screw vise. It gave good service while I was there. Probably about a 6 x 12 machine with a 1' blade. I now have a little larger and nicer Startrite I bought used.
Its about a 9 x 15 machine, still a 1' blade. It has a VS rather than a step pulley and a fast acting vise. Easily adjustable and it cuts square.
Parts are only a phone call away. Make sure you have a chair by the phone because you will need it. When I bought my saw the guides were shot. I called Clausing. The reply included: 300 138660X set of 4 guides 15 609202RS bearings R & L 25.64 ea.
Delivery of the guides would be approximately 5 – 6 weeks from receipt of order. The bearings would be approximately 1 week from receipt of order. If you have any questions, please let us know.
The guides were about 1 oz pieces of rectangular hardened metal. No carbide, just a couple of tapped holes. I got out my welder and hard face rod. These saws were both horizontals. I know they make verticals also. I've had an H175 for about 10 years.
It gets used on a regular basis and hasn't given me a bit of trouble. It has both the the horizontal and vertical options. It also has coolant capability, but I've never used it. I buy dry cut blades at the local Ellis factory. They last a couple years with 5 - 10 hrs use per week. As mentioned before it has a screw vise and step pulley speed change.
Not the fastest or fanciest by a long shot, but it gets the work done and doesn't require much in the way of maintenance. I've also noticed some of the negative comments about these machines. If you do a little background check you'll see most comments come from high production shops that try to run them 40 hrs a week 50 weeks a year.
They were never made for extended production runs, but rather for the small shop that uses it on an intermittent basis. If you're looking for a machine to run all day long every day there are better choices. The' better choices' don't come cheap.

We had a couple Do-ALL machines that could work all day long. They were great for what they did and very dependable.

They also cost about 10 times what a Startrite did, and took up 5 times the floor space.
