I have an old Westernfield Model M175B 20 gauge bolt-action shotgun, chambered for both 2 3/4' and 3' shells. I bought it used from a friend about 25 years ago, so I have no idea how old it is, and I've lost any manual that I might have received with it.
I asked someone about getting some magazines for it, and was told that Westernfield is a store, and that I needed to find out the gun manufacturer. I've done a search for Westernfield but haven't come up with anything. Does anyone know who manufactured them? There is nothing anywhere on the gun other than Westernfield, the serial number, and 'Made in the U.S.A.' Bill Velek - Please find out about rec.guns at.

Your model was made by Mossberg and is a Model 385. Western Field guns were made by Mossberg, Savage, Stevens, Marlin, Nobel, and others. Harold Leahy 1/10/1999, 0:00 น.
# I have an old Westernfield Model M175B 20 gauge bolt-action shotgun, # chambered for both 2 3/4' and 3' shells. Blue Book of Gun Values, 19th Edition lists the Western Field175 as being made by Mossberg.
The Western Field 175 is the same model (minus some cosmetics) as the Mossberg 385K. I would assume the 175B is a more recent variant. The Mossberg Model 385 and its variants was made from 1960-1986. Try writing Mossberg with the model and serial number of the shotgun. Please find out about rec.guns at. Rec.guns supports MPFO's Millennial Rifle Raffle - donate today!.
billh 1/10/1999, 0:00 น. If I'm not mistaken, I believe that Westernfields were much like JC Higgins.made by the 'big guys' and sold by Wards/Penneys/Sears under different names. I would figure that your shotgun was originally a Savage or Marlin as I know they both made a bolt shotgun. I would recommend that you find a 'Blue Book of Gun Values' at your next local gun show and look them up.I'm unable to find mine right now. Regards, Handgunner Bill Velek wrote:. NI can't find any Western Field Deluxe models in my lists, but M60, M61, S861, SB66, SB60A, and SB067 are all Savage 620 Deluxe or Savage 621 Deluxe models. NThat gun is the Lefever Nitro Special which was owned by Ithaca at time of mfg.

I just received a model from a neighbor after her husband passed away. I have never seen a shotgun with a bolt action like this model before.
Can you help my figure out when this shotgun was manufactured. And maybe the value of it. It's a Mossberg Model 80 manufactured from 1933 to 1946. Worth about $40 if it is just in working condition, $135 if it is still in factory new condition.
They also have a nasty habit of having cracks behind the bolt. This is not seen unless taken apart. This is a weakness in the manufacturing process. This shotgun should not fire any shotgun shell longer than 2 and 1/2 inches. Also no magnum rounds.
This is a very weak action. Dan - Any model number marked on the gun? It is probably a Stevens 311 (or one of about 60 other Stevens models that are all so similar most reference books don't bother to separate them). If fully functioning and not totally beat up, should bring about $200-$250 retail. William - Again, without a m odel number, I have to guess, but I suspect your gun is a re-branded Mossberg 500. Look in the yellow pages for a gunsmith. Answer The western field shotguns were made mainly by Stevens and a couple other com.

If you go to the gun parts corp. Web site they have a cross referance by model number to the orignal man. They also carry many parts for them. Answer The XNH-565 was made by Noble it is a 60 series shotgun and not many were made, this gun would be near the end of Westerfield's production.
